Have you ever wanted to get more insights in the process of producing and recording?

Have you ever wanted to get more insights in the process of producing and recording? If so, apply to Ethno Studio and experience Ethno in a professional music studio from 11th until 19th October 2025 in Germany, Limburgerhof

We invite every participant to bring traditional music from their cultural background and to share it in a peer-to-peer process with the whole group. Additionally to learning music by ear, you will also learn to arrange, perform and record music under the guidance of our experienced mentor team. We want to convey technical skills in audio engineering and to enable musicians to record and produce music by themselves.

Prior to our time in the music studio, participants are required to attend 6 online workshops dealing with the basics of audio engineering. These workshops will be held online on a weekly basis starting in September and are also open for people who cannot come to the studio.

The places in the music studio are limited to 12 participants, so be quick to apply!

Participation contribution

Assess yourself how much you want/can contribute for your participation.

Please be aware that our costs for a single participant are about 800€. Without our sponsors our camp would not be possible. If you are selected, we will send you our bank account details.

We suggest: 500€+ if you are generous and amazing, 300€ for participants living in Germany, 200€ for participants living in Europe, 125€ for participants living outside of Europe.

Important notes

None of the participation contributions include your costs of transport to and from Limburgerhof.

Address: 67117 Limburgerhof, Germany Closest airport is Frankfurt/Main (FRA). From there you can easily take a train to Limburgerhof train station. You will receive more detailed travel information from us once you are selected.

Your place is only guaranteed when you transfer your participation fee to our bank account or send us proof of your flight tickets to Germany.

In the case of cancellation, we will only reimburse the participation fee if it is done 30 days before the beginning of the program. To cancel your participation you must send an email with your bank details to studiogermany@ethno.world

You'll hear from us about decline or acceptance in May and August, AFTER the application deadline.

A video recorded with your smartphone at home will do. Please be aware of choosing videos where we can easily identify you, if it is a big group of people. It can be an improvised video with your phone, we will not use it or share it.

If I teach a song or tune, I understand that it must be public domain or traditional music. Copyrighted music - both songs and tunes - cannot be taught or recorded at Ethno. Since we want to record, please only bring music that is copyright-free, e.g. traditional music.

Due to time constraints, not everybody will be able to share a song or tune with the whole group. The mentor team will choose the songs/tunes we are going to learn together.
