ETHNO Germany Music Camp 2021 - an experience for musicians and dancers from all over the world. From 12th until 22rd of August 2021 at Castle Lichtenberg, Thallichtenberg, near Kusel, Rhineland-Palatinate. The ruins of Castle Lichtenberg near Kusel (Palatinate) will provide once again a rustic yet fascinating scenery for musicians and dancers working side by side, creating breath-taking performances, where sound and movement merges together. About 50 participants will share and explore diverse cultural backgrounds, learn and reinvent traditional music & dances and connect through the power of music & dance. Be it the big spaces of the castle area, the comfort & service of the youth hostel, the professional artistic mentors or the support from the enthusiastic organisers – participants will receive everything they need for days and nights full of music, dance and joy. ETHNO invites people from different countries and cultures to join making music based on the traditional music of their cultural backgrounds in a free and open minded way. ETHNO means living and learning together in the way oral music traditions are passed on directly from person to person, empowering people in their diverse specialties. ETHNO is a unique combination of workshops, jam sessions and performances where we, with the support of artistic mentors, share with each other music from different cultural backgrounds and on top of that learn to appreciate the multifaceted ways of being in this world. Usually around 50 participants from about 20 different cultures and all 7 continents learn and reinvent traditional music & dances together, grow together through the power of music & dance for 10 days and perform several times as a big ensemble.
