Ethno Spain is a folk music camp and cultural exchange under the Ethno family. It takes place in Monastery of Uclés (Cuenca) from 14-25 August 2025. This year we have two application deadlines! 1ª PHASE: UNTIL APRIL 1st (for participants who want to plan their flight in advance at a more favourable price and participants who need a visa). 2ª PHASE: PHASE: UNTIL MAY 31st (for all other participants). You can apply as a musician and as a dancer. Apply as a musician if you want to share music from your traditional background and be part of a big ensemble arranging, singing and playing music from all over the world. There are 30 vacancies for musicians (18 to 30), and the chance to gather, share, learn and party hard. No matter your level of musicianship or path, what counts at Ethno is that you are open and willing to learn from and share with, musicians from all over the world. You’ll be asked to bring and prepare a song and/or tune from your culture or from the one you would like to represent! So, once the participants selection is concluded, we'll get the ones that come from the same country or represent the same culture in contact, so that you can start preparing your journey. Apply as a dancer if you want to share dances from your traditional background and be part of a dance group discovering a variety of traditional and modern dances and creating choreographies to the arrangements of musician's ensemble. There are 6 vacancies for dancers (18 to 30). Musicians and dancers will be working side by side in different groups with several daily meeting opportunities and sessions where everyone collaborates together in order to create a big performance with dance and music from all over the world. Participation fees: The participation fees contribute partially to the budget of the residency: food, lodging, logistics, professionals who lead the project. After being selected by the organizers, we will ask you to pay the participation fee by bank transfer (preferably). No advance will be asked before this stage. To apply, fill in the registration form. The confirmation of acceptance to the Ethno will be sent in two weeks after the registration (if travelling from abroad) or by the 10th of June, at the latest (if joining from Spain). After receiving the confirmation, please transfer a non-refundable prepayment of 50 € to the bank account of Orquesta Ritornello. Banco Sabadell (IBAN account: ES68 0081 0370 7300 0193 7597). Prepayment guarantees a place at the camp! The remaining amount should be transferred to the account of the Orquesta Ritornello by the 30th of June 2025, at the latest. In the details of the payment, please mark “Ethno Spain 2025” and your Full name. Registration closes on the 31st of May but participants are also accepted after that, in case of free places.
