Terms & Conditions
  1. Only entries received no later than 12pm on 30 November 2020 will be considered in the evaluation process.
  2. Winners will be notified no later than 12pm on 15 December 2020.
  3. JMI reserves the right to share all submissions on their website and social media platforms unless expressly denied this right by the submitting composer.
  4. JMI reserves unlimited rights to performance, publishing, lending and recording of the successful composition as chosen by the jury. Author’s rights for the composition will remain with the composer.
  5. Unsuccessful submissions may be used for promotional purposes during the competition and within the context of the competition, but will not be used further by JMI. All rights will remain with the submitting composers after the competition’s closing.
  6. The successful composer is required to create and send electronically, all partitions for the symphony orchestra no more than 45 days after the decision at no additional cost.
  7. Payment of the prize money will only be made on the delivery of the final score and instrumental partitions.


JMI foresees the following uses/applications for the piece:

  1. Online video to be housed on YouTube and shared on our website and JMI network social media channels.
  2. Performance at future JMI events.
  3. As a part of a commemorative album, to be given as gifts to members and sent as press kits to radio stations and the media
  4. Potential exhibitions of the composition ‘music video’ at public museums
