Applications for the 5th edition of Ethno USA are now open! This year will be our 3rd year in Greensboro, North Carolina!! Ethno USA 2025 will welcome 30 participants and 4 artistic mentors. We also aim to have 2-3 guest mentors visiting us during that time. Attendees will get to experience a diversity of musical traditions from within the USA and from around the world. There will be time to get to know each other during the camp, as well as experience the excitement of performing on the North Carolina Folk Festival main stage (www.ncfolkfestival.com)! There will be a total of 5 performance opportunities during Ethno USA 2025, and because of this, Ethno USA has a strong focus on live performances and community outreach. This experience would benefit the young musician that is excited to perform and record live at a high level of professionalism. Before you begin, please make sure that you have readily available: 1. A clear scan of your valid passport page(s) (for US applicants: Driver's License or U.S. ID are accepted) with your personal details visible (required) 2. A recent photo of yourself, preferably with your instrument (required) You will need to attach all applicable supporting documents for the form to be considered complete and successfully submitted. By filling out this application, you are agreeing to adhere to the Health and Safety guidelines from JM International, Folk Alliance International, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the governments of the United States of America, your country of departure, and your home country. Health and Safety regulations from Guilford County and North Carolina may additionally apply. 2. No fee is payable at the time of filling out this application. The fee is payable once your application has been approved. Successful applicants will be notified by email. 3. Ethno USA does NOT offer international scholarships. The scholarships we offer are given to residents and/or citizens of the U.S. living inside of the U.S. * If you are an international applicant seeking financial support to attend an Ethno, you can apply to the Ethno Mobility program (https://ethno.world/ethno-mobility-grant-2025 . **PLEASE NOTE: when applying to the Ethno Mobility program, you CAN NOT ask for financial support to attend a specific Ethno. Example: applying to Ethno USA and asking the Mobility program to fund your travel/participation to attend Ethno USA, as this is NOT ALLOWED.** 4. If your application is approved, you will receive a notification from Mubazar requesting you to pay the Ethno USA participation fee, before your place is confirmed. 5. Successful U.S. scholarship applicants will receive a discount code which they can use to complete the registration process. 6. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis, i.e. as soon as they are received. For this reason, please apply at the earliest date possible. Applications will close once places are filled. 7. A waitlist will be created once places are confirmed. 8. The decision of the organizing team on participant selections will be final. Medical information is treated as confidential. Opportunity Costs U.S. participants Upon approval, you will be required to pay an additional service fee of USD 30.00. The total participation fee for residents of the U.S. is 𝗨𝗦𝗗 530.00 until June 1, 2025, at which time the price goes up to 𝗨𝗦𝗗 630.00. International participants Upon approval, you will be required to pay an additional service fee of 𝗨𝗦𝗗 18.00. The total participation fee for international attendees is 𝗨𝗦𝗗 318.00. This price does not change as this is to counteract the high price of international travel.
